Happy Birthday to You...

After our sad news yesterday (thank you all for your kind and thoughtful comments.  They are much appreciated) it was difficult to celebrate David's birthday with the usual enthusiasm, but Ann'a loss reminded us to be thankful for each and every day we have together and we toasted her memory as we toasted our happiness at the privilege of reaching another birthday.  

Alan was back at the hygienist this morning and they had another attempt at a scale and polish but his bite reflex is just too strong so they will have another go with him mildly sedated but that won't happen till the next year.

More gift wrapping (that's me done.  Yay :-) and made a couple of special cards to go with gifts.  David had a good session at the driving range and the sun shone.

This evening I made David's birthday dinner of choice...chicken liver parfait with crusty French bread, sirloin steaks with peppercorn sauce, chunky chips, roasted broccoli with toasted almonds, lemon and pecorino cheese and chocolate sponges with melting chocolate centres.  

Sadly we were so full after the main course, dessert is still in the fridge.  Oh well, there's always tomorrow :-))
