Bump!

The best way to stop worrying about one of your children is to start worrying about another!

Andrew was running down the hall this morning and bumped his head on the corner of a wall. Huge duck egg, which split. Very upset lad, very scary. Ice packs and Calpol, followed by missing school and careful observation from me. He's fine. It was such a shame for him to miss the last half-day before the holidays, especially since his class had won a special prize in the Readathon and were having extra "Golden Time" and a pizza party (arranged by yours truly). I cheered him up with a duvet "nest" on the settee and pizza for tea.

Most of the Readman clan (and their squeezes) arrived this evening for the birthday bash. Fantastic to see everyone, perfect excuse for some scoffing, drinking and talking into the wee small hours. Preparing fruit for a kids' party at midnight can be most rewarding, especially after a couple of beers. I was delighted to find that Tesco.com had delivered comedy strawberries. This one looks sporran-shaped to me, but others believed it to be a Polly Pockets handbag.
