Illegal

A week ago, the new Covid rules for those visiting Spain made us decide to cancel our "winter sun" holiday to Fuerteventura. Then, a relaxation of the rules for the Canary Islands, and limited scope for refunds, put it back on. However, last night we discovered that it is not just "against guidelines" to leave from Tier 3 Midlothan on 27 December, but has become illegal. So, we'll be staying here, and now have the stress of seeing what we can get back in terms of refunds and re-bookings. It's annoying, and it would have been particularly good for the other three in the family to get away somewhere. However, in the bigger picture of 2020, we knew there was a risk, it represented hope, and it's only money.

Today was so dull that we had to put the lights on to wash up after lunch, and my only outing was to step out of the back door to photograph this rhododendron bud. It won't flower until June, but represents the fact that another, hopefully better, year will soon be upon us.
