Golden Cap

It's there, somewhere.  My late father-in-law was born and brought up in Dorset, but moved nearer London to make his fortune after the war.  Latterly he made pilgrimages to the county of his birth and used to stay in a hotel near Burton Bradstock where was well fed by the doting staff.  He would visit his old haunts in Beaminster and climb Golden Cap, whereupon he would ring his daughter to report his success.

The old gentleman died in 2011 but being here in Dorset revives the emotional connection.

We are off to dinner in Brassica in Beaminster this evening, a belated 40th anniversary do :-)  And it's within walking distance of our rented cottage :-)
