The organist

Tonight was the carol service at our local church, a 300m walk up the hill. We went fully equipped with high visibility stuff as it was foggy and dark.  if it had snowed it would have felt really Christmassy, but we might not have got up the hill :-)

In church all wore face coverings and most of us sang with them on, not a pleasant experience, but it was great to be belting out the hymns and hearing the familiar readings.

We heard yesterday that our son's partner and her son have come down with Covid, probably from school.  This means that our Christmas plans have had to be shelved with no family visiting – it will be a cheap Christmas in catering terms, but it means that we can concentrate on the birth of Christ.
