Sometimes it pays to be stuck in traffic

Driving into Seattle on a Friday evening around 5:30pm can guarantee you one thing -- an interesting blip photo, captured while sitting in bumper to bumper traffic!

Prior to this excursion, my day was spent indoors, clicking away at my laptop, and staying out of the cold, and very blustery winds. I have a hunch that the Pacific Northwest, at least along the I-5 corridor, may very well squeak through this winter with only a few brief snowflakes. Compared to previous winters, and compared to what much of the rest of the country is enduring, our winter weather this year can easily be described as "boring".

I was drawn to the unusual cloud formations, serving as the backdrop to the space needle, and the glimmering lights in the far off windows. The traffic soon broke up shortly after this shot, and Rich and I enjoyed the opening night of the annual Seattle Noir City film festival at the Uptown Theater. Tonight's double feature: "Try and Get Me", with a very young Lloyd Bridges, and "Hell Drivers" with several very young up and coming actors, including David McCallum, Patrick McGoohan, Jill Ireland, and Sean Connery!
