The Cake is Iced

The cake was only made 10 days ago, and has been tucked away languishing in brandy !!  This morning it was iced.  We're not a fan of the old school Almond Icing followed by more icing.  This is a simple Butter Icing for Christmas Cake courtesy of the infamous Edmonds Cookbook (a Kiwi Icon) .
We've had a cooler day, a little mizzle; a day for indoors.  Half an hour ago Doug headed off to the golf croquet wind up for 2020.  Inclement weather will not deter him :)
