Home ground

A lovely morning . Sunny, cool and no wind. No frost either.

Later the village promenade will be very busy with people  who have driven here to escape from Tier 3 towns to the south of us. We would prefer that they stayed at home but it is easy to understand why they try to escape for an hour or two.  Our pubs are open for “substantial” meals and the views are invigorating.

We were off early climbing up Arnside Knott before the visitors arrived. We pretty much had it to ourselves apart from Gladders and Gus.

My shot is a variation on the classic photograph complete with train.

Thanks to many of you for your thought yesterday about the mud/sand formations on our foreshore.
A week ago I blipped that area showing large rounded mounds of sand brought in by high tides. Since then the twice daily tides have become steadily lower and it seems that as each one ebbs it takes sand away leaving a flat platform. The whole process resulting in a series of ever lower steps. At least I think that is what happens. I am happy to have stirred up some intetest.
