Lighting up for Christmas.

Our village has gone to town with lights this year, and this is part of the Illuminations Trail.
My favourite is the Manor House. Main photo in the collage.

What a miserable wet and windy day day.
Morning spent washing and ironing and this afternoon I have been baking again.
This time smoked salmon and dill tarts (tomorrow nights starter) and Viennese Apple and cinnamon flan. Delicious.
We have had a slice for our evening meal, with a dollop of Jersey cream. ( red cabbage and onion hash with pigs in blankets main course)

We enjoyed watching All Creatures Great and Small Christmas Special last night, now looking forward to the new series.

At the moment watching Gone Christmas Fishing,with Mortimer and Whitehouse.
Filmed in Yorkshire. Quite a touching programme. I remember walking past that Christmas cottage (Called Chequers,) where they stayed near Osmotherley. What a fabulous place to spend a few days.

Some friends rang us today. Don’t see them often. Last time was beginning of September.
They both caught Covid at the beginning of November. Michael said he had never been so ill. Lost 2 stone ( still over weight). His wife was in hospital for a week.
Fortunately both OK now.
