New haircut day

Miss PHL appeared back on the ward just after I’d posted last nights blip. Operation went well but the appendix was healthy. So this morning we were hoping for more information and the diagnosis was mesenteric adenitis or an inflammation of the lymph nodes in the bowel. Apparently symptoms often mirror appendicitis- they think it’s caused by a viral infection so no further treatment.

She had a disturbed night but managed tea and toast this morning and was hopeful of being let out in the afternoon. It was difficult to get her pain managed (shoulder pain which is common side effect of the carbon dioxide they pump into your abdomen) so it looked like she would stay in tonight until they identified a positive test for covid in a patient in another room on the ward. Back to original plan and we picked her up just after 5 which was lucky as it fitted in nicely with my hair appointment finishing. Love what he’s done including my undercut at the back - feels very modern!

It’s lovely to have her home but think she will be subdued for a few days. Thank you so much for your kind words.
