Christmas Eve Eve

Having weathered the storm of boxes and their contents, our Christmas began properly today when we got back from Aberystwyth.   Jamie needed an eye test so he'd booked an appointment to coincide with our trip to pick up Tilda who has joined us for the festive season.   In Wales a single person living on their own is still allowed to join one other household during Tier 4 restrictions, so our Christmas plans are largely intact although we're sad not to be able to spend time with my Mum and Chris.   A nice meal, a pile of cards opened and gingerbread made (Jamie.)   'Tis the season!

A single flower appeared today on Iris unguicularis, the Winter Flowering Iris, dug from the old garden on my last visit a couple of months ago.  The vase is one I hand built some years ago at a pottery just up the valley.  My books, which arrived last week, are somewhat out of order but it's good to have them on a bookcase here.   Life goes on.
