Amaryllis.

Well I have known them as Amaryllis, I admit to not being sure exactly what they are called these days.  At one point they were called Amaryllis x Hippeastrum, some times Hippeastrum and sometimes plain Amaryllis.

The reason I have taken this shot is because it is earlier than I am used to.  Most of my blips of them have been in February.   This flower shoot is a good 10 cm (3") already.  They seem to thrive on neglect, at least they do for me.   This one belonged to my Mum and she died 34 years ago, how long she had it before then I can't remember.
