Weird Christmas

I would guess that hardly any of us are having a normal Christmas day. We had a lazy start, then a Zoom with S's mum plus R and H. Luckily they had managed to get to S's mum's before tier 4 hit, otherwise she'd be on her own. It felt a bit odd then to do almost no preparations for lunch. At 4 pm we headed over to S and R's with some pigs in blankets, gravy,  and the materials for Yorkshire puddings, plus supplies of wine and cheese. The weather was so horrible by then that we went in the car even though it's only a 3-minute walk.

The Yorkshires were a hit (blip) and the turkey and stuffing prepared by R were both excellent too. Roast and mashed potatoes, sprouts and carrots ... Preceded by an indulgent starter of prawns, smoked salmon, foie gras, and oysters for the more daring, and followed up with both trifle and Christmas pudding. We eventually curfew-dodged home (on foot)  at 10 pm, replete and ready for bed.
