Lazy

It's a long time since we've stayed out that late and eaten and drunk so much. So it was a slow and creaky start to the day. At least the wind had blown the clouds away overnight, but it was a bitterly cold, gusting one off the Pyrenees, so we weren't tempted to venture out. Upside: S cut my hair, after several months of increasing shagginess ... it was getting really annoying.

"Lunch" today was at 4:30 -- we weren't hungry earlier. S roasted the excellent small beef joint I bought in the market on Wednesday, and we had it with stir-fry vegetables and some delicious new potatoes. And I made Springfield pear cake for dessert. Plenty of leftovers of both to enjoy tomorrow, when hopefully we'll be feeling a bit more lively. Meanwhile, it's been sofa, reading, an episode of Talking Heads, and I'm about to go full on hygge and make some cocoa.
