The Day After

Dear Diary,

What a downpour we had yesterday!  I'm so glad it wasn't snow or I wouldn't be dug out until New Years!  Just Be reminded me the other day of the lovely tradition of making pomanders.  I had some small oranges so I thought I'd make a few.  Too late for Christmas giving this year but no matter.  I roll my clove studded oranges in ground spices and I'll tie them up in netted bags to place in the corner of a drawer after they are thoroughly dry.

I made these for the first time with my Brownie troupe in 1956.  My mother was the troupe leader and we always did some fun craft.  I've made them since but not for a long time so thank you, B for reminding me!
