Camogie

Sounds to me like some form of Japanese toy that you give to children to look after. Sure there used to be something like that in the 1980s which my daughter adored.

Apparently not, 1904 started women's version of men's Irish hurling. Isn't hurling one of the most dangerous sports there is & even if girls use slightly shorter sticks, still sounds & looks brutal?

Granddaughter's school team won a local  schools competition. Here in the middle with two good friends holding the cup. In the extra photo the rest of the team.

I can't remember exactly when it was but about this time when Ireland went back into strong lockdown, daughter said local flare-ups caused largely  by a series of wins by local adult games teams in various competitions and whole towns & villages holding massive celebration parties, naturally with loads of alcohol!
