Day 272 - Christmas Goose - Merry Christmas to you

My favourite food for Christmas is goose - so we got one this year.
This was the first time I ever cooked t myself and I am quite happy with the result. Although we spent almost the whole day in the kitchen.
We had coffee and Plätzchen in the afternoon and looking at the goose we made a wise decision and skipped the starters!!
We had roast goose, German potato dumplings, red cabbage, some pigs in blankets to add some British nostalgia and roasted veg!
And a wonderful bottle of 2010 Brunello de Montalcino with it.
We were stuffed and followed with some Schaps to dissolve the fat ... haha!
Neil had made an amazing Yule log and we dared to try a slice a bit later ... then we collapsed!
So today was all about food !!!

Tomorrow we need a rest.
Blipping the impressive bird - but in fact there is not so much meat on a goose. A turkey is very different.
But still - we have food for another couple of days ;)
