If you can't beat them...

Blencathra from the old road.

Considering our area had no less than three weather warnings, high winds ,heavy rain, and snow and ice, the afternoon was very pleasant.     The result was we decided to venture out for blips and fresh air.  The first stop was what used to be the main road through the Lakes to West Cumbria.  I can't remember exactly when the A66 came into being but it was after 1969.

As always I couldn't resist shots of Blencathra, looking down the road.  The old slate post which was commonly used for the local fences provided foreground interest.

Then we moved on to Eycott Hill a Cumbria Wildlife Trust reserve and took more shots.   Had things been normal we would probably have dropped in to Cocklakes for Coffee but instead we headed home for.....

You guessed Coffee!
