Ice Tiles

I think I'm in danger of trying to include too much in this image and loosing my original intention. Having seen images of broken and curling tiles in dried desert mud flats, I thought I could use the shapes in the ice to similar effect. I'm not sure I was able to get close enough to fill the foreground and consequently it is neither about the "tiles" or the subtle sky colours that were also very interesting.

I tried to blend in a darker image to reduce the glare off the ice, but it was also pretty much blown out and had little effect. I tried shots excluding that area, but that's also where the sky was most interesting. Maybe a grad would have helped?
