Day 280 Watchful

Last night Storm Bella visited the UK bringing gusts of more than 100mph and rain which caused floods and damage in some areas, but fortunately not to us.  Such was the noise of  the howling of the wind that poor Peggy Sue was frightened and began mewing desperately at around 2,30am.

We woke initially to grey skies which eventually cleared to clear, bright blue as you see from my main shot.  Mr MC threw out some turkey scraps, quite a bit of which was carried off by a bold magpie.  The seagulls began to circle hopefully but in the end came no closer than our neighbour's roof.  In extras you can see the reason why:  PS, storm forgotten about, gobbling as many scraps as she could.  Food on the lawn is clearly preferable to her nicely served bowl of cat food, just as pond water is preferable to the clean bowl of water indoors apparently.
