Henry Penn Paddle?

Pete and I had an urban and rather circuitous walk along the River Nene towards Peterborough City Centre, with diversions where the riverside path was flooded. We had planned a circular route in the valley but it soon became clear that this wouldn't be possible, so we ended up returning home via Thorpe Road. On the way we found a few fungi, including a nice clump of Velvet Shank and some Eyelash fungi on a treated stump.

In the evening we had a second Christmas dinner consisting of a reduced turkey breast joint bought half price from Waitrose on Christmas Eve, with all the traditional trimmings. I hadn't thought I'd have been able to face it, but it was actually very enjoyable, especially followed by a second serving of our cranberry, juniper and orange trifle. A nice end to a much more chilled day.
