Happy Birthday. . .

. . . Maggie Smith. One of my favourite actresses as both Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter series and the wonderful Lady Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham in the Downton Abbey series.

To help ensure we finish this year feeling good and begin 2021 with the right attitude, we both went to get manicures & pedicures this morning. With this crazy weather having dried out my skin so much, it was super nice getting pampered.

After getting home and eating the last of our Christmas dinner leftovers for lunch, we dropped the flag pole so I could repaint the finial and Kent could replace the batteries in the weather station and check all the sensors.

My Dad made us this flag pole over 20 years ago out of recycled materials. The pole itself is an old fiberglass antenna off a sports fishing boat! That makes it light enough that even at 20 feet, one person can drop it and put it back up themselves.
