Lunar

I noticed the ridges in the ice which looked like a giant tyre track and, as the sun got lower, they became more pronounced. Moving around a bit, I found the other curved line which joined the long straight crack. The three together made an interesting composition. I decided I needed the area of rough ice across the top of the image as a further contrasting texture.

I like that the photo is devoid of scale and consequently ambiguous. It could be a vast plain or even a lunar surface.

Extra: A Fine Line. Not just an interesting wavy line, but also a tenuous line between ice and water, a metaphorical boundary before deep winter sets in.
