Bodge It, Bodge It and . . .

. . . Bother It  (that was close!)

Just to make it clear - this is an EB

Went to put out one of the trail-cams to spy on one of our nest boxes this afternoon, only to find that the quick release shoe built into the (cheap) old (very) tripod had done a self-destruct.

So muggings set to to find a fix.  This wound up with having to drill the old mount off the tripod stem, then epoxy resonating a 5mm bolt into the top, and tapping out an old swivel mount to 5mm so that it can be screwed on.  The nut and small washer you can see are just holding the bolt in place while the resin sets.  They will be replaced with a large 'penny washer' when the mount is fitted.

This all took a lot longer than intended.
