Happy New Year

The end of 2020 was celebrated with a barbecue at home.  Friends of the  lovely daughter are also holidaying in Nelson.  The forester and I went to wish neighbours happy new year and when we came home the glow sticks had been assembled and dancing around the fire and toasting marshmallows was happening.  Earlier in the evening they had been writing lists of the negative things that had happened this year.  Things or attitudes they didn't want to carry into 2021.  The lists were then burnt in the fire.  You could choose to share or not.  It took me a while but I did write down three things.  That means I have had a good year.  This blip was taken at 11.30pm.  The neighbours beside us had loud music and at midnight let off fireworks.  We cheered from our deck.  Don't tell the rest of the street as they tend to take a dim view of fireworks with some having pets that are upset by the noises.  We were restrained and had sparklers.  Today is sunny and that elusive swim is looking likely.
