Happy New Year!

Thursday
I asked Roger to open the bubbly a few minutes early so I could get this blip for New Years Eve! I think everyone is glad to see the back of 2020, and we hope and pray for better things in 2021. I’ve put in a couple of extras, one from our morning walk at Long Branch Farm, and a couple from this evening - Laura’s Yule log she made for our dessert this evening, and another seeing in the New Year. Laura has been watching The Great British Bake Off on Netflix since she’s been home - she can’t get it in Kuwait, and she got inspired to try her hand at making a Yule log, which she’s never tried before, and I must say it turned out really well!
Wishing all my fellow Blippers a Happy, healthy and blessed New Year!

Concluding with a few stanzas from Alfred Lord Tennyson from his Ring out wild bells:

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light:
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Ring out the grief that saps the mind
For those that here we see no more;
Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
Ring in redress to all mankind.

Ring out a slowly dying cause,
And ancient forms of party strife;
Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws....
