LD 284 New Year sun, Loch Riddon

A low sun was failing to melt off much of the frost in the Stronofian forest  (owned by our local community ) this morning as we walked up amongst the trees and looked down on Loch Riddon.  The ice in the puddles, as my first extra photo shows, had melted a little in some places, but several days of freezing had produced fascinating shapes.

The young trees however, which can be seen in my second extra photo, appeared to be thriving.
