New Year, New Life

The amaryllis that justbe so kindly sent us for Christmas is growing like topsy -- it seems to sprout up about an inch a day, and the main flower stalk is now about a foot tall with a pleasantly plump bud at the top.  As I was photographing it this morning, I discovered a second stem hiding in the middle of some sheltering leaves -- bonus!
