"When will you begin that long journey into yourself?"
Rumi

Today's another stunning day, fresh and clear when the sun clears the horizon, so I head for the Folly tower above Pontypool park. The ground is hardened by the frost, making it much easier to climb the hill to the shell grotto through the woodland where before it was slippery and muddy. From the top it's clear across to Steepholm and Somerset beyond, with a dusting of white on Skirrid (Abergavenny way) and the hills to the west. A fellow walker gives me a few ideas for future walks as we both admire the tapestry laid out around us. The skies darken as clouds approach from the west, and a grey veil over the hills warns of approaching showers, so I make a dignified retreat to the safety of the park, pausing only briefly to enjoy the sight of a buzzard in the adjacent field. I made it to my car as the rain turned serious.
