Redcurrant Drawer Knobs

The day got off to a stressful start when we realised it was Saturday and not Friday, as we'd imagined - but Mike decided we'd get on with the drawers anyway - even though the house is a tip (obviously, with all the contents of the drawers and shelves spread all over the show) and we have C&E for lunch tomorrow, and church has started again.

My job was to stain the front edges of the cupboard and the drawer knobs, twenty-six of them, including the two Mike made (without a lathe). Here they are, sanded after the first coat. Awful product, but love the colour, and will blend the new shelves in with the old ones over the sink.

And start slow-cooking the lamb for tomorrow, which at least warmed the house a bit - it's going down to below zero at the moment. And wash the bedding, which has dried on the line. And do some cleaning up.

Gratefuls:
- that I could stain the knobs, at least, outside in the fresh air and sunshine
- an easy and delicious lunch from leftover bacalhau Cecílio gave us yesterday
- seeing the grandkids laughing on a group FTime
