Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

The great cycle of life.

"After your death you will be what you were before your birth."

Arthur Schopenhauer. German Philosopher. 1788-1860.

A sad sight on the beach today, the corpse of a dead grey seal has beached on the high tide and the herring gulls are busy recycling it into herring gulls. Gory, but all part of the eternal recycling of the star-dust of which all we living creatures are made.

The extra is, I am afraid another dead animal, this time an Eider Duck. He died in 1965  and a friend had him stuffed by the local taxidermist. A couple of years later I swapped our dansette record player for him. He has lived with us ever since!
