Another Day, Another Walk

In lockdown, finding exercise is mainly about using Shanks's Pony, or on this occasion another four footed friend.

The Christmas decorations came down today and after lunch, with the sun shining in through the kitchen window, we headed out for a walk along the Avenue at Chillington.

As we were coming back we came across a table, protected with a large umbrella, with eggs on offer in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance.  We bought half a dozen, carefully wrapping them in a bag and then continued back to the car.  As luck would have it we then came across this donkey and trap and the lady in the picture was the owner of the hens that had laid the eggs.  We had a short chat, learning they were rescue hens, passed their peak egg laying abilities, but still capable of producing 5 to 6 dozen eggs each week.  We'll certainly remember that for the future.

Another day is passed, though it is very much beginning to take on elements of Groundhog Day!
