The Land Couple

These two stand on the promenade at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, in Northumberland and are probably the most photographed couple in the town. The artist Sean Henry created a large version of these two in 2007, who stand on a plinth on the breakwater out in the bay. The smaller version is looking out to sea at the larger couple. However, the woman's eyes seem to follow you along the promenade.
Don't be fooled by the blue sky in the background, this was a bitterly cold day with constant sleet and rain, definitely not short sleeves weather.
