Chilly day

It was earbag weather today - I really felt the chill.  I couldn’t persuade Ian out today so I did a long 6 miler on my own (to another Bridgerton book) and then went straight out again with mum for another mile.

Today we discovered a few Christmas bits we had failed to pack up yesterday - we always leave something behind! So we’ll have to pack those away too.  Ian has the afternoon off tomorrow to pick up the new car so he can sort those and the outside lights which still have to come down.

Leo was meant to play a footie match today but thankfully it was cancelled so no freezing on the Touchline or faffing about to try and keep all the new regulations re COVID in place.  I wonder whether they should just stop for a bit,  but the Devon Youth League seems to want to continue.  It is good on the one hand that they all get some exercise, but just seems rather strange to mix all the kids and parents when we can’t do that in other settings.

I have been keeping track of figures around here and the Cully cases don’t look good - see extra.  At least Leo is home until at least the 18th - hopefully jabs will be on the go by then and mum and dad should be towards the front of the queue.

If the cases are on the rise in the community then mixing all the kids at school does seem rather worrying.
