Pied wagtail

This pied wagtail visited my garden today.  I only get them in winter when the weather's cold, it's a welcome visitor.

This morning I went for a walk along the canal near my house.  It was a very different experience to the crowds at Ellesmere yesterday, I only saw one man walking his dog. There are not the attractions of The Mere and Blakemere of course but still an enjoyable walk in the winter sunshine. I saw flocks of long-tailed tits and winter thrushes but not close enough for good photos.

This afternoon I went food shopping for the first time since a few days before Christmas - I try to make shopping visits as few as possible at the moment. It wasn't crowded so that was good.
