homeschool!

Day one of our new term and while the children got on with their school work, I (somewhat sadly) dismantled the tree. It seems strange to take everything down this year when the house hasn’t been full of friends and family. Normally I breathe a sigh of relief but not so much this year.

Meanwhile the children were star students and Isaac was a very patient little one this morning while we did the school stuff. I am now pondering whether Isaac should have a day with the childminder while I work tomorrow (preschool childcare is permitted) - the normality may do him good as the poor boy is struggling with all of the COVID restrictions which he of course doesn’t understand. When we knocked on to say a distanced hello to his beloved N and G, he really sobbed about not going in. It’s so hard for small people! And they can’t really tell you what they need very easily.

Gratefuls:

1. A calm start to homeschool and the wisdom of our head deciding not to open today;
2. Bridgerton - utterly ridiculous but we are really enjoying it;
3. Cuddles from Zeke and Isaac - they really mean them!
