RIME ICE

Nothing much happening today.....except that I have two basketball games to photograph later. It's kinda lousy outside so I decided to upload some more rime ice photos.

Rime ice crystals form when there's freezing fog...fog water droplets freeze on contact when they deposit on a surface which is below freezing in temperature. The crystals continue to grow larger as long as it remains foggy and below freezing.

EXTRA: Just a few more samples of this amazingly beautiful phenomenon.
