England Exit - This Way

WARNING - below is the ramblings of a part time perfectioinist & hifi nerd!

Long overdue hifi tidy up and re-strip of my hifi speaker cables this morning. Very fiddly and time consuming cutting through the thick plastic casing yet not cutting any cable strands with non specialist tools and my temporarily extra weakened righthand finger strength.

Best ever job & also inordinately pleased to think of tip-exing one end of the +/- channel wires to ensure + matched to + at amp and speaker ends, plus leaving the part slidden stripped casing on until ready to re-fit.

Took the opportunity to shorten the cable length by a foot to theoretically improve fidelity and to tidy up the unused cable.

I was finally prompted to do this having listened to to a recent new album and was very disappointed....

until I spotted that the left hand speaker wasn't making a sound (as the cables were loose).
