The patchwork puzzle

The project to make a sofa cover has drawn to a halt because I can't decide what to back it with.

An assortment of blankets, sheets and large pieces of fabric have been auditioned and dismissed. None of them is quite right.

So far, all the fabrics I've used are ones that I've collected or been given over the years but it looks as if I may have to buy something to complete this job. Rather goes against the grain.
