"In the bleak mid winter"

News of the Covid vaccine has spread like wildfire. Some friends in Dunblane, just over three miles from us, are having their jab next week with the Pfizer vaccine.

Then I heard of a man in Muthill, about ten miles from here, who got a phone call recently and was told tomake his way up to Crieff  about five miles away that afternoon. Seems they had a spare Pfizer vaccine.

So I rang our local Health centre in Bridge of Allan to find out what is happening in our area. No, there is no date for the vaccine here though they hope to get their first supply in a couple of weeks. It will be the Astra Zenecca vaccine.

The good news is that Stirling has one of the lowest rates of infection in Scotland. But the bad news is that today the new cases in the UK topped 68,000 making it a British record.
