Snow?

Woke this morning in great expectations that I would see the first decent snowfall of the season.

Instead there was a light dusting, enough to cover the icy golf course and encourage intrepid youngsters out on their sledges.

Meanwhile my daily walk covered one small section of the golf course, and then its icy patches were enough to scare me into the security of the nearby woods.

Now into our third lockdown, afternoon walks are turning into a big social event, an opportunity for folk who have not met for months, maybe even years, to meet up and chat. And yes a chance to meet new people too. It's amazing how lockdown breaks down barriers.

We are still frozen in. Our local hardware store delivered a bag of salt and the driver offered to clear a pathway to our front door  and put some salt down, an offer we gratefully accepted.
