My Sister Rocks!

My sister was recognized by Dr. Francis Collins, the Director of NIH. I am so proud of her! (extra brags, this is her second year in a row receiving the CEO's Award!) 
This was a surprisingly difficult piece to shoot. The medal is a clear lucite. It was presented in a beautiful case with a blue satin lining. It looked like an easy shot, but the blue satin disrupted the image. I tried shooting the medal in a lightbox, but there was too much reflection. I ended up shooting it dangling from a knob on the hutch while shining a flashlight on it.
