It was a beautiful day, cold and sunny, and we headed to Brockwell Park by the back roads and entered the park through the Cressingham Gardens estate. This is a lovely 70s development that the council have been planning to demolish since 2012. The latest planning applications were submitted at Christmas (nice timing) and the residents and the Friends of Brockwell Park are vocal in their protest against the demolition and subsequent development of a high rise over this quiet part of the park.

On the sides of some of the buildings are photographs by Mark Aitken, a photographer who lives on the estate – there's more about the project here on his website and more images can be seen here. I love seeing them amongst the surroundings of the estate and the park. The sunlight and shadow of trees were added bonuses today.
