A Project

Our dining table, which has followed us around the country for well over 30 years has always been due a clean up and new seat covers.  Now we are settled it is finally getting what it has waited so long for.

The original was bought by my parents in the late 60s and was only ever used if we had guests in the house.   Gill found another couple of chairs in the summer which are similar enough to the originals,  covered with the same fabric they should all go well together.

My blip is one of the two - before we started taking off the existing covers.  The original marmalade & brown covers were underneath the blue fabric, along with some dire foam and signs of previous restoration efforts.    None of it looks too bad so they should clean up well. The four original chairs were covered in a black vinyl which is suffering and the foam padding has largely disintegrated,  Two left to take apart and we can then start on the clean up :-)

Made by Uniflex - some of their pieces are enjoying a new popularity.

Thanks to everyone who has visited my journal over the past few days - when I have not been doing very well with keeping up with comments!
