Off the Frozen Track

Having put in a pretty abysmal effort since the start of 2021 on the walking front, I set off in the drizzle this afternoon.
After a mile or so, the tracks became really difficult to walk on due to slowly thawing ice.
The lochside paths were impossible so I took a diversion through a ploughed field, carefully walking in the long grass and remaining snow for grip.
There's a wee church tucked away in a copse of trees that I've always meant to visit. My diversion took me straight to the broken wall that surrounds it. I spent 10 minutes or so poking around the churchyard and surrounding ruins.
Very atmospheric and intriguing. Almost 6 slippy miles completed.
