The Last Straws, Barming

The cold grip of winter eased a little bit today so me and my brother decided to go for a longish walk combined with a an essential supplies shop tacked on at the end, thus avoiding a potential breach of the rules (which seem about to get even stricter). Much as we tried to get some kind of landscape shot the weather and grey skies (yet again) were of no help. So today's image is of a still frozen water trough full of black water and stiff straws of hay.
On Saturday night/Sunday morning it got down to -5 here, which is very rare as we are in the South East of England. The house felt as if it was getting colder and colder despite the central heating being on full blast, so I'm glad it's warmed up a wee bit.
