A wet day and so a wet walk, but I found a local nature reserve with the pond full of bullrushes, a densley wooded area alongside a muddy stream which is obviously a well used play area in better weather, and a BMX bike track, by which time I was quite wet and muddy! I'd been trying to find a way through from one area to another via the path shown on the map. But the map didn't show the rope swing which appeared to be the only way across the stream, other than jumping or pole vaulting! I ended up going the long way round and discovered the very overgrown route of the old railway.
