Lovely day for a walk

After yesterday’s rain Tuesday was nice and bright.  Zoomed with the Bus Pass Walkers first thing and then straight into the community choir Zoom.  Had to leave before the last song as daughter L was calling to go for a walk.  We decided to go up through through the woodland and onto the “yellow brick road” to have a meander round the moors.  Very muddy everywhere and huge puddles covering the width of some of the paths. L bounces off like a gazelle, so I spent a lot of time asking her to “hang on” - probably frustrating for someone with long legs who is used to going off at a pace!  We walked back to Altar Lane where the puddles were iced over, and back into St Ives.  After walking down to the pond we went for a takeaway coffee to drink as we walked on.  Decided to come back via Cuckoo Nest, and the pathway down to the cottages was very slippery with deep mud. Still, it was a lovely day to be out, and we covered a good 6 miles (L more as she had walked from the next village and also walked back there).  Main photo is of some of the lovely mossy rocks in the woodland leading to the moor, and the extras are from the road to Altar Lane looking across to the moors above Keighley.  Hopefully there will be some nice weather to do it again soon, but not a good long range forecast.  Car failed MOT, but all put right.  Hope we don’t get the forecast heavy snow - don’t want it sliding into a wall!
