Fire Line

Two abstracts today, with one in the extra.  If you care to opine, which do you prefer?  You can guess which one my cohabitant preferred...Neither perfectly fits the theme of symmetry, but both have small details that are almost symmetric.  Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting the abstract challenge.  How you come up with all the different themes is beyond me!
