Under The Blanket

A few weeks has passed since the big snowfall, I can't recall exactly when, yet a good 6-8" still blankets the terrain, enough to make walking uneven. In areas where no animals have made tracks, the rounded humps of snow-cover describe the terrain beneath.

I liked this quiet little scene featuring a bit of green moss in the centre of a log, standing tall enough to be uncovered. I tried to compose the shot with the line of shadow coming in from the bottom left and the stump pointing out top right. As usual trying to keep texture and form in the white snow is a challenge.
